There are plenty of excellent restaurant management games on Facebook already, from Cafe World to Restaurant City. But what the social network doesn't have is a great, traditional time management style game. Now it does. Heaven's Diner is like a bite sized, simplified version of Diner Dash, but with a heavenly makeover.

The premise is simple: you run a restaurant in the heavens, serving food to angels and gods. In the beginning you'll have to choose your menu, which consists of four items at any given time. The menu items are actual real world food items, complete with real world photos. Once your menu is chosen you'll have to start serving up the goods. To start out with you'll have a relatively small restaurant, with four seats for angels and one for a god, though it looks like you may be able to upgrade the size of your establishment when you reach the higher levels.
Each round is very short, consisting of around a minute's worth of gameplay. Customers will come in and request a meal via an image bubble over their head. All you need to do is click on the menu item, wait for it to prepare (which only takes a few seconds), and then click on the customer. A few seconds later, when they finish their meal, you'll have to click on them again to collect your money. Early on the game adds an extra layer of difficulty, as customers can also request various seasonings for their meals, such as salt or honey. It's the regular time management formula reduced to its basics, which makes it a great fit for Facebook, where quick bouts of gaming are the norm.
It also has an experience system that allows you to unlock new items as you reach higher levels, and you can use the money you earn to upgrade your restaurant with new tables, a fountain, or even a rainbow. In a few weeks time the developer will also be launching an iPhone app, that allows you to take your own beautiful food pictures, and then transfer them in game.
With its bright and charming graphics and solid, if simple, time management gameplay Heaven's Diner looks to be doing something rare: namely, being a Facebook game that actually feels unique. And with the additional iPhone companion app, it could turn out to be a very special game. Expect a full review in the coming weeks.
